The grand daddy of them all this year has been the iphone 3g. This boasts a fabulous interface, a quicker network and way fun applications for all to enjoy. Our personal favorites are Urbanspoon, and Aroundme. Who knew technology could be so fun.
The Wii has been a life changing device for the Winns this past 2 years. Dr. Mario (see previous entry, early this year) has risen to an obsession for Emily. However there is a new device for the system...Wii Fit. We have only dabbled with it, but any piece of technology that tells you that you are obese and the your BMI is too high...is OK by us. I need to work out and get off of the computer!
The Vizio LCD has been an adventure this year for us. First, the sucker was tough to mount to the wall, but other than that...it has delivered crystal clear HD picture for us to enjoy everything from NFL football to The Hills (Emily).
Christmas came early for Jason this year. He got the Bose 3-2-1 Sound system to compliment the TV. It has a stellar DVD player and crystal clear surround sound with just two small speakers and a sub. Fabulous!!!
The GE Cafe Refrigerator has been a blessing to the Winns. It's stylish looks coupled with water filtration system as given us many comfortable days and nights.
The Camelbak Water Bottle may have been the single best purchase of '08 for us. Pink for Emily, Clear Gray for Jason...refreshing clean tasting water, sip after delicious sip. If you can't tell, we love our water!
This is on Jason's wish list for the upcoming year. A Specialized Mountain Bike. Both of us feel like bikes would be a lot of fun, so we are looking into getting his and hers bikes sometime in the next year. Let us know what you think. For the money, Specialized seems to be good quality for what you pay.
Jason's workout/lounge gear of choice. This is very comfortable, breathable and sexy looking if we do say so ourselves! No matter what, you always look like you belong if you are wearing Under Armor!
Home Defense Method of Choice. The Glock 19. We both have our conceal and carry permits. This allows us to pack in 32 states. Pineapple!! We need to stock up on 9mm ammo, considering Barack may make it so "you can still buy ammo, we will just bankrupt you if you do it." OK, that may be a paraphrase on something else, but anyway...best to be prepared.
Store of the year = Costco. We love the Great and Spacious Building! They have everything you need, and a ton of stuff you don't need, but buy anyway. Normally the deals here are pretty legit...assuming you need a 20 gallon bottle of ketchup. Seriously, we love this place. We are here at least once a week.
Williams and Sonoma wins for Emily's favorite store. There are hundreds of little cooking gadgets and yummy mixes. The pumpkin spice cupcakes that we made this October are courtesy of the afore mention W&S. Overpriced? Yes. Fabulous? Yes
Our favorite dining establishment? Market Street Grill. In Cottonwood. All of the rest, are just pretending. This is a great place that is super special to us. We had our first date here. We also went to dinner here the night we got engaged. It is funny how 2 people can fall in love over a bowl of chowder...it IS fabulous chowder, but...
not the best. This honor goes to Legal Sea Foods Clam Chowder. Served at every Presidential Inauguration since 1981, this Boston based restaurant has the best chowder JASON has ever tasted. As of 2 days ago, the Lehi Costco still had some of Legal's actual prepacked chowder to go, on sale in their refrigerated section. Try it, it is money!!!
While we are talking about food. Nothing Bundt Cakes, has some of the most delicious little morsels that you are likely to taste in the Wasatch. They have a bunch different flavors of Bundt Cakes and they are all dang good. Treat yourself to one of these little gems. You will love them.
Our favorite getaway of 2008 has been St. George. It is close, it is fun, it is relaxing and now it has In N Out Burger. What more could you want? OK, a decent movie theater. I am with you all there. But we love getting away a few hours south and feeling like we are in another world. Also, they have the best Costco, even if the polygs inundate it. I guess no one has a better reason to shop in bulk then them.
Favorite institution of Higher Learning has been the Marriott School @ BYU. Jason has been there quite a bit this year, taking review classes and working on MBA applications. Hopefully all of that hard work pays off, and he gets into the program. We will find out in a few months.
Online Shopping. One of Jason and Emily's favorite pastimes. For such cultured individuals as ourselves...(pausing for laughter) we cannot be limited to what is available in the Greater Wasatch Front. As a result, it has become necessary for us to sharpen our skills and attain a proficiency in online shopping. This is one of the most entertaining things we do. Plus, we get stuff sent to us in mail or UPS. Who doesn't like getting mail (besides bills and junk)? This may be a problem (or addiction), but recognizing we have a problem is half the battle.
Favorite time waster? No brainer, facebook. Jason has more of an obsession than Emily, but lets face it, we love being social and seeing what our friends are up to. We obviously don't have time to call everyone up and see how things are, so Facebook is a great way to keep up on every one's latest and greatest.
Favorite book on 2008. 1776 is an extremely interesting book about the beginnings of our country and the men and women who sacrificed to make it what it is. Plus, David McCullough is very interesting at writing history.
This is Jason's favorite publication of the year. It has interesting fashion tips, and entertaining articles. However, in this year's issue there are some pictures that you need to rip out. Naughty...why can't Esquire just write about whats interesting. I don't need the scandalous ads in there.
Emily's favorite magazine of 2008. She loves to see the new fashions and hairstyles and whatever the hell else they write in this publication. Yeah, I don't much about it.
Well, there is just one more thing for this segment of favorite things. We reserve the right to add to, or take away from this list. We may have another version to post later, but this took all morning to do! Not easy, but we do it all for you guys!
Even though this was last season, the Red Sox will always be one of my favorite things. Good job this season boys. You took it almost all the way to the World Series again. Get your offense in gear this next season and stay healthy, and we will rise again to jack the Yankees!!!

Yes Esquire does have some naughty pictures, but I bet Callin didn't rip them out, and if someone ripped them out for him, I bet he went online and looked at them anyway!! I love you guys!
I must agree with you on all of these great things! I agree with Ashley also! lol. And yes that includes your great Red Sox Jason, I congratulate them on their great season, but I will not ever give up on my Yankee's. Just cant do it! Love ya!

Wii fit is pretty much the bomb.com I love when I play with my 8 year old neices little guy, and it yells something to the effect of "you have gained enourous ammounts of weight since you last played, you should probably stop eating so much" such a sweet heart of a game. so uplifting...
